Clark county is becoming one of the biggest/best indoor series. The last two rounds have averaged 70 riders. (This is sorta due to Oakwood canceling quads.) Clark county is good fun racing. The tracks have all been different and challenging. The prices are always low. You know what you get when you go. And Monday is a quad only practice day!

This weekend started off with the three hour dive at five am…….that I slept through. Walked the track and found it was almost the same as last weekend. Except for a “old school” wall jump and the option line had changed. First practice when smooth, I did everything I wanted to try. Second practice I tried a double triple on an option line that I cased hard.

First moto. I lined up next to Cody (second best looking person on HH) didn’t get the start I needed/wanted. Then killed it, got passed, killed it again. Cody won this moto Denny in second and me in third. (For full results go to http://www.promotopromotions.com)

Second moto. I got the holeshot! I looked back to see Denny D hot on my heels. By the second lap I decided to protect my inside line. By doing this I took the win! Top three were:
1.Reed
2.Denny
3.Cody

Not a bad weekend for team Holeshot Hotties. And be on the look out for a video of this weekend sometime this week!

PS. I am looking for new team ridders for 2010. You don’t have to be fast you just have to know how promote yourself by looking good. If your interested email me at reed19@gmail.com

I.C.E racing

Ice racing…….. harder than it looks. It all started friday night at the ShoWare center in Kent Washington. This was only my second time racing on ice. I started off with a 3rd in my first heat and a 2nd in heat number two. Good enough to make the last place in the LCQ! Pumped on making the LCQ I knew it was going to take a good start and a lot of bumping to make the main. After a bad start and no bumping at all I ended up 2 spots out of the main.

Night 2……went a lot better. I went 4-1 in my heats almost loosing a wheel in the second one. Made it to the LCQ, second row second position. This time I did get a good start and muscled my way up to 4th. Good enough to qualify with the last spot in the main.

The main. Two red flags right off the bat. It was the third start that we all got going. Well everyone else but me. I got stuck on one of the “ski” barriers. I was done, but did ended up 7th due to me “kinda” taking another person out when I was “skiing”

NWQN Report

Megan made an awesome report about nwqn. It may be a year old but you should read it.

clark county

Is adding $150 to the pro purse! Holeshot Hotties will be there. And we will have bottled talent on site.

Anarchy in the NWQN part deuce

It may seem like I complain a lot about nwqn. Well I do. I think i have a right to. Yes i know I have made a fare amount of money from nwqn, but for me that does not over shadow what really goes on. I have gotten into pissing matches on pittraffic.com over this subject many of times. But I will stick to my word even if Im wrong.

These are my key points that FZA need to improve on if they want nwqn to have a fighting chance….

1.PRICE-I already went over that in part one.

2.Lack of organization/motivation – Why hasn’t a a schedule been released? Or even the three dates for the indoor series? If they want to succeed the schedule needs to out by the first of the year. You cant release it two weeks before the first event, like they have done in the past.

2.5-Organization off the track. Why don’t I see flyers in bike shops? Why hasn’t the website been updated? Why does the facebook get updated but not the website? Why haven’t i seen a rough draft of a rule book? Yea everyone is busy because of the holidays. But hell even I have enough time to complain.

3.Website- Not everyone has facebook. If they put just as much effort into facebook as fza.com there would be more content/the right content.

4. Location- I don’t really know what to say here because it is a double edged sword. If you stay close that means straddleline. And you cant go to straddleline every round. But don’t go to medford. I mean really. Its a 8 hour drive.

Don’t change the rules mid season- It didn’t happen much this year but it has been a problem in the past.

6.Pay your pro’s- Yep thats right I said it. Us pro’s didn’t get payed the right amount at round one and medford.

I would like to remind you you can email me at reed19@gmail.com

stay tuned for part 3.

Anarchy In NWQN Round 1.

Part one of Anarchy in NWQN
I want to start of by saying I support any effort that FZA is making to continue to run NWQN. And that this is not a personal attack. This is an opinion piece. (This is my opinion)
Me and my family have supported NWQN since its start 5 years ago. I have been there through the ups and downs. I have seen the rider count go from 170 down to 31. I have seen the pro class go from 10 to 1.
NWQN started off as a 4 round series at Pacific Raceways. It got a huge response. Every Year after that it has gone down hill. Its not the lack of organization, its not the lack of rules, its not the lack of a website. Many different series have prospered with out any of this. ITS THE PRICE.
The price has gotten out of control. Its not the entry’s to race its the entry to get your family/yourself into the track. At 15 bucks a day per person its ridiculous. And don’t blame it on the track raising the prices. Its all about negotiation. Other series do just fine charging lower rates, and they attract more people.
The CMC. There is no need for it. It is an extra cost that FZA is forwarding on the riders because they don’t have the cash to front it. Its is an extra 40 bucks that the riders could be spending on another class.
continued tomorrow in Part 2…….
